iOS Remakes of the Veteran Amerzone, Gobliins 2, Can Knockdown 2, and First Touch Football
An iOS reboot was undertaken by the two classic titles, Sega and Tower Studios, as they both are coming up with their latest offerings for iDevices, Speedball 2: Evolution and Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing, the latter expected to arrive pretty soon. Speedball 2: Evolution is the Bitmap Brothers’ enhanced version, developed and released by Tower Studios and Vivid Games for iOS devices.

The game, currently available in the Apple App Store, basically retains all the main features of the original Amiga version but carries the due updates for iPhone devices. This current version features two alternative control options: a classic one, of soft joypad, an imitation of the original Amiga version’s controls, and an innovative, state-of-the-art tilt-to-move option, which allows manipulating the team-mates very simply by only moving the device. The iOS technology and this feature make it possible for the whole screen to be seen on the iPhone all the time while moving the device. A comprehensive career mode is offered as well which promises to deliver hours-long entertainment, local multiplayer competitions across Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, new visuals designed specifically to showcase the iOS devices, as well as a number of gameplay tweaks that were developed and designed to convey the true Speedball experience.
As the game’s creative director, Jon Hare admits, the great The Bitmap Brothers classic version of the game got way much better and became available and capable to interest another new generation of gamers with its new competitions and teams, multiplayer mode as well as 10 season career mode. And the Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing due to arrive this spring, puts the player in the shoes of the popular SEGA characters, such as Tails, Dr. Eggman, Amigo, Super Monkey Ball’s AiAi and many others. Each of these characters is equipped with their own unique moves and custom built vehicles.

The focal point of the game is to reach the checkered flag, which is possible to do in various battle modes via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, local multiplayer race as well as single-player modes, using the driving skills to pass the obstacles on the way.
